Bullying can make school feel unsafe long before adults notice

Grains of Good Foundation helps Bay Area schools and families recognize bullying earlier through educational game kits, bilingual materials, and direct consultations.

About this story

Bullying is more than a conflict between children. It is a repeated pattern of harm that can affect a child’s confidence, emotional safety, and ability to learn.

Grains of Good Foundation supports teachers, parents, children, and teenagers in creating mentally safe environments in schools and family settings.

The program was developed through years of work in inclusive education. Its flagship tool is an educational game for children ages 7–12, developed with Geek Teachers LLC. The game combines mystery-solving with bullying prevention lessons, making a difficult topic more approachable and easier to discuss.

Each kit includes:

  • An interactive educational game a bullying prevention quiz
  • Discussion materials for classrooms and homes
  • Translated resources for bilingual English- and Russian-speaking communities

Grains of Good Foundation also provides direct consultations for schools, educators, and parents who need support using the materials and responding to bullying concerns.

Why support is needed

Schools and families need practical, age-appropriate tools that help children talk about what is happening, help adults see warning signs, and help communities respond with clarity.

  • When a family doesn’t understand the system, support can feel out of reach. Sunny Nest was created to make that first step clearer — for children who need care, and for parents who need guidance in a language they understand.
