About All Options

All-Options, formerly Backline, uses direct service and social change strategies to provide unconditional, judgment-free support for people in all of their decisions, feelings, and experiences with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption. Its vision is a future where all people are supported in making the reproductive decisions that are best for their lives, without coercion or limitation, and where the dignity of lived experiences is affirmed and honored.

The organization’s values include inclusivity and justice, authentic engagement, care, accountability, and an approach that recognizes the complexity of pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption. All-Options also describes its work as a full-spectrum model designed to reshape the landscape of pregnancy and parenting services.

What Does All Options Do?

All Options runs a national telephone Talkline offering peer counseling and referrals for pregnancy, parenting, abortion, adoption, pregnancy loss, and infertility. The line is staffed by volunteers who complete rigorous training in active listening, validation, and reproductive‑justice‑informed peer‑counseling techniques.

In addition to the Talkline, All Options manages the Hoosier Abortion Fund, which provides financial support to help people in Indiana access abortion care. The organization also previously operated the All‑Options Pregnancy Resource Center in Bloomington, Indiana, offering free pregnancy tests, diapers, safer‑sex kits, menstrual products, and connections to local services.

Who Benefits from All Options?

All Options’ services are open to anyone in the United States facing pregnancy‑related decisions or emotions, including people considering abortion, adoption, or parenting, as well as those processing pregnancy loss or infertility. Callers are often navigating isolation, stigma, or lack of unbiased support from family, friends, or providers.

The organization’s peer‑counseling model particularly benefits Black, Indigenous, and other people of color; LGBTQ+ and gender‑expansive people; young people; people living in poverty; immigrants and undocumented people; and others who experience systemic barriers to reproductive‑justice‑aligned care. Partners, parents, friends, and community members also call to better understand how to support loved ones.

Why Donate to All Options?

Donations to All Options help keep the Talkline open every day, train and support volunteer counselors, and fund abortion‑access support such as the Hoosier Abortion Fund. Each gift contributes to creating a national network of free, remote, judgment‑free emotional support at a time when in‑person options counseling and abortion care are increasingly restricted.

Supporting All Options also advances broader reproductive‑justice goals by centering the voices of those most impacted by discriminatory laws and policies. Your contribution helps more people feel heard, affirmed, and less alone in their pregnancy and parenting journeys.

All Options Impact and Outcomes

Peer‑counseling and research studies on the All‑Options Talkline indicate that callers receive decision‑making, emotional, and informational support that improves their sense of agency and well‑being during and after abortion or other pregnancy experiences. Participants report feeling less isolated, more validated, and better equipped to navigate complex feelings and systems.

All‑Options’ programs have provided thousands of confidential Talkline conversations and have helped supply essential items such as diapers and safer‑sex kits to low‑income families. The organization continues to expand its reach through virtual platforms and trainings, equipping community members and providers to offer nonjudgmental pregnancy‑options support.
